Week 3 · Day 2121 / 28

Week 3 Review

Installing: The Internal Shift

Test — Where Are You Today

Did you drop the rock? Did you close the ledger? Are you leading with soft emotions? What has changed in how you show up?

Why It Matters

Technique without transformation produces performance, not connection. This review is about your own posture -- not your partner's progress.

Solution — Today's Practice

We are not the same people we were three weeks ago. One more week -- then a lifetime of practice.

Today's Challenge

Technique without transformation produces performance, not connection -- so this review isn't about grading your partner's progress, it's about your own posture. Did you actually drop the rock, close the ledger, lead with soft emotions? What changed in how you show up is the only question that matters today.

Explained
The Technique Trap: Why Perfect Words Can Still Miss the Mark. "I feel frustrated when the house is messy" said from a Guarded Heart (jaw clenched, arms crossed, voice tight, eye contact sharp -- hidden message "You're failing. Again." -- read as Threat Detected) vs. an Open Heart (shoulders relaxed, palms open, voice soft, eye contact warm -- hidden message "I need your help, I'm overwhelmed" -- read as Safe to Connect). "Your partner doesn't just hear what you say. They feel who you are." The inner work tunes the instrument before you play the notes.

Same words, two postures: a guarded heart reads as "threat detected," an open heart reads as "safe to connect." Your partner doesn't just hear what you say -- they feel who you are.

"The inner work tunes the instrument before you play the notes" is this whole review in one line. You can say all the right words from a guarded posture and still get read as a threat -- which is exactly why this check is about your own internal shift, not a script you performed correctly.

Internal Shift Check

Did you drop the rock? Did you close the ledger? Are you leading with soft emotions? What has changed in how you show up?

Your response here isn't saved yet -- that lands with activity persistence, a later step.

Couple

The Testimony

Each share: "Here is what I learned about my own heart this week." Acknowledge the courage it took to be vulnerable. Stand facing each other: "We are not the same people we were three weeks ago. One more week -- then a lifetime of practice."

Your response here isn't saved yet -- that lands with activity persistence, a later step.

Reflect
Name one moment this week where you chose the marriage over your ego.
Your Coach

Reflect with your coach

Is this actually about what changed in YOU -- or does it slide into describing their behavior instead of yours?

Faith Integration
"Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."
Colossians 3:12

These are postures, not techniques -- they describe who you're becoming, not what you're doing. That's exactly what today's review is checking for.
